Solar heating FAQ's

Solar FAQ's Does Solar heating work? People will argue that solar heating does not work. It is hard to argue that the sun is not powerful and that your roof does not generate high heat. Also that a heat pump is better. A solar system that is sized correctly or even over sized will perform outstanding. The Sun the the most powerful heat source. You need sun to make a solar system work. Most pools will be swim-able from Sept - May. Your roof will drive excellent temperatures during these months and will reach 55-60 degrees in high summer.  This heat generated on your roof will lift the pool temps very fast i.e. within a day from 18-22 degrees, up to Set temp  Simply...

Solar Operating Guide

- Solar Controller The solar controller controls the solar pump. It continuously monitors the temperature difference between the pool water & the Sunbather solar. Whenever the Sunbather solar is 7°c warmer than the pool water, the controller switches the pump on. The controller switches the pump off when the Sunbather solar has no heat to contribute to the pool. The desired pool temperature can be set by pressing the ‘Set Temp’ button and using the arrows to scroll through to the preferred temperature. If the power to the solar controller is interrupted, eg. by time clock or power failure, the default setting when power is resumed is “ON” and “AUTO”, this will of course enable the solar pump to run....

Pool chemistry, tricks and tips

Water chemistry tips   Things to check if you have a chlorinating cell or automated dosing/ feeder: Test water at least every 2 weeks for all pool chemical requirements Make sure you have mineral test stripes for mineral pool Acid bin is above half full the whole time Salt levels are correct i.e. 3500 ppm for a 24g cell. This will ensure the cell can charge saline water. Without the correct level of salt/ minerals, the cell will not charge or produce chlorine All power plugs are plugged in correctly  Use a testing kit to test water balance   Pool Water Chemistry 101Maintaining the right chemistry in your pool water could be the most important job you’ll have as a pool...
